100 widows get cash

An NGO, Oyediji Foundation, yesterday supported 100 widows and the vulnerable in Badagry, Lagos State, with money, to ease their pain.

Presenting the cash, Michael Oyediji, founder, said the grant was to spread joy and bring smiles to them.

He said they would get N5,000 each.

Oyediji said the initiative was inspired by their plight.

He said it will be regular, targeting widows, orphans and the less privileged.

“I was inspired by God to see how we can put smiles on faces of widows…’’ he said.

He urged them to use the token to buy foodstuff.

Joseph Gangbe, a cleric, said they had been doing this since 2023 in churches.  Mrs. Olufunke Ogunfiyin said she had been benefiting since 2023.
