No fewer than 155 indigent youths of Bayelsa State have been shortlisted to take the 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐞𝐝 C𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐫-B𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐝 T𝐞𝐬𝐭 (CBT) 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐳𝐢𝐤𝐞𝐥 𝐀𝐯𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 T𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 p𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐞 taking place in the United States of America.
The CBT, which was scheduled for February 20, 2024 will now take place on March 5.
The AATP is a prestigious initiative supporting Bayelsa youths aspiring for aviation training in Pilots for Helicopter, Fixed Wing Aeroplane and Aircraft Maintenance Engineering in the US.
𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐳𝐢𝐤𝐞𝐥 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩, 𝐃𝐫. 𝐆𝐨𝐝𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐀𝐳𝐢𝐛𝐚𝐩𝐮-𝐄𝐫𝐮𝐚𝐧𝐢, while addressing the shortlisted candidates at the Federal University Otuoke ICT Centre, 𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐝 them 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐲 𝐝𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐢𝐦 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐞𝐝 CBT.
Azibapu-Eruani emphasized the importance of rigorous study and adherence to examination rules, stressing that securing at least 80 per cent of scores is a prerequisite for selection into the training programme with no room for malpractices.
Vice Chancellor, Federal University Otuoke, Bayelsa State, Prof. Teddy Adias, urged the shortlisted candidates to seize the opportunity, familiarize themselves with the test manual, and be punctual on test day.
Also, the member representing Ekeremor Constituency 1 in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Mr. Tare Porri, commended Azikel Group and its partners for the initiative.
He pledged to advocate for such beneficial programmes in the State House of Assembly.
Also speaking, the Coordinator, AATP, Mr. Jidayi Ardo, explained that the rescheduling was due to unexpected challenges.
He, however, highlighted that the programme’s aim was to provide top-notch aviation training in the United States for young Bayelsa people.
The Special Assistant on New Media to the Azikel Group President, Deacon Robert Igali, emphasised the importance of private sector’s involvement in youth development, noting that Azibapu-Eruani’s initiative aimed to empower Bayelsa youths not only to be self-reliant but also to contribute to the empowerment of others.
