Omotayo, who was ranked below 500 in the world showed his class against Romania’s Cristian Pletea to qualify for the knockout round in his maiden appearance at the global tournament.
The Romanian was brimming with confidence before the encounter but after Omotayo won the first game, it was clear that all will not be easy for the European.
Omotayo who had taken the time to study his opponent before the encounter played with a lot of caution knowing full well that his opponent strength is in rallying.
