A Non-governmental organisation, Move on Nigeria, at the weekend in Abuja convened a conference to rally support for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
The parley tagged “why Atiku’s Conference”, held at the Sheraton Hotel.
The President and convener, Darlington Onyebuchi Agoha, said the occasion was organised to answer the question “Why Atiku”?
Agoha said: “Nigerians need Atiku Abubakar at this point to salvage the dwindling economy and to reinstate the security situation of this country before it is enmeshed in to political, security and economic quagmire”.
He also averred that Nigerians need Atiku for a sporadic industrialization of Nigeria and creation of employment for the numerous unemployed Nigerian youths.
Agoha, a social crusader and good governance advocate, pointed out that Atiku is a diatrabalised Nigerian who has the intrinsic capacity to unify the nation and eradicate the poverty and hunger.
In his speech earlier, Atiku said he was in the race to reform Nigeria, adding that he knows the problems and would solve them.
The former Vice Presidential said the issue of employment and security was paramount to him, adding that he would use both internal and external mechanism to handle the problem of economy while assuring that he would stabilise Nigeria’s economy to be the best in Africa.
Saying the present administration has failed Nigerians, Atiku said he would restore the trust of the people and ensure that government carries out its social responsibility of providing employment, assuring security of life and properties of Nigerians and making Nigeria a conducive place to live.
While calling on Nigerians to vote him in the forth coming election, he said: “A vote for Atiku is a vote for restoration.”
