The leadership of Ethiopian Church of Christ (African Church Worldwide) has said its members will not be coerced to vote against or for any candidate in 2023 Presidential election because of sentiment.
The Church noted that members according to the vision of the founder in October 1st 1919 have the political and spiritual independence to choose their leaders which will pave way for unity and solidarity.
Leadership of the church led by its Spiritual Head, Worldwide, Snr Pastor Babatunde Ojubanire, Lerinyo of Alutierin, Oba Dapo Towobola and Barrister Gbenga Awosade during a special service to commemorate 103 anniversary of the church yesterday in Ile-Ife, Osun State disclosed that the founder, Reverend Adeniran Oke when he received vision of the church in 1919 he predicted the Independence of Nigeria and also warned that spiritual-political independence must be inevitable in order to integrate African values and cultures.
He noted that 103 years of existence, the church has made landmark achievements education, spirituality, promotion of culture, music and social change with branches around the world.
According to him, “In 1993 when Moshood Abiola contested it was Muslim-Muslim ticket, the Christians did not raised any eyebrow but now the country has divided as a result of anomy, no more freedom, the freedom for each of the nationalities in Nigeria have arrogated. That is why we have problem with Muslim/Muslim ticket, citizens now wants to create superiority.
