The Lagos State First Generation Heritage College Association (LAFGHECA) in affiliation with Golden Flower Global Concept Limited, has decided to engage 30 secondary schools in an intercollegiate Sports competition scheduled for April 9 at Yaba College of Technology Sports Complex.

The sports competition is aimed at not only discovering great sporting talents, but, also, in healing emotional wounds amongst peers, in order not to see themselves as enemies.

The CEO of Golden Flower Global Concept Limited, at a briefing, said the sports competition will stir the spirit of co-operation and relationship among schools.

“We are hopeful that this edition will be a great success with the supports of philanthropic individuals, government institutions, sports association and agencies.  This sporting event would also awaken the spirit of co-operation and relationship among the first generation schools in Lagos State, as it feature Athletics, Long Jump, Table Tennis, Chess and Scrabble, amongst others.” he said.

Founder of LAFGHECA Otunba Olapeju said: “We have been using this window to bring out keen competition among our students as the founders of Secondary schools in Nigeria, not only in Lagos. We want to use the platform of sports to drive away all the information about cybercrime, because an idle mind is the devil’s workshop. If our children are gainfully engaged in terms of rivalry of sports, they will think less of crime.”
