Bauchi State governor Mohammed Abubakar of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Saturday’s gubernatorial election is leading his Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) main challenger Sen. Bala Mohammed with a wide margin in results declared in 12 of the 18 local government areas.

Mohammed has won in five councils while Abubakar is leading in 12 local government areas.

The Returning Officer Prof. Mohammed Kyari said there was no result in Tafawa Balewa local government area, which forms part of Speaker House of representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara ‘s constituency after the  collation officer of the unit, Dominion Anosike  could not give a clear account of what transpired at the collation centre.

Mrs. Anosike had alleged that she was threatened at the collation centre and forced under duress to announce the result at the local government collation centre by political thugs.

“As far as I am concerned, there’s was no result in Tafawa Balewa,” the REC declared.

An APC party agent rt. Col. Umar Tilde had earlier challenged the result collated by Mrs. Anosike, a senior lecturer at the federal polytechnic Bauchi State before she could even make any presentation, alleging it had been doctored.

The situation led to a tense atmosphere at the premises of INEC Headquarters after the Commissioner for Police Ali Janja who was present at the venue alleged the unidentified PDP agent threatened to deal with Anosike for failure to announce the results in the presence of the State Returning officer, Mohammed Kyari.

Normalcy was restored therefore by the CP who ordered the immediate arrest of the PDP agent.

The announcement of the 2 LGAs was rescheduled for 10.pm
