The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State has welcomed the decision by the Independent Natioanl Electoral Commission (INEC) declaring the March 9 Governorship and State Assembly Elections in Benue inconclusive.
It said the step was in line with electoral guidelines.
In a statement signed by the secretary of JIme – Ode Campaign Organisation Prof Eugene Aliegba and made the part stated further that it will present itself for the supplementary polls at a date to be fixed by the electoral umpire.
The party extends its gratitude to the electorate, party faithful and supporters, who trooped out in their numbers to queue behind its governorship candidate, Emmanuel Jime, and all other candidates of the APC.
The party expressed its deep worry over widespread cases of thuggery, intimidation, voter inducement, vote buying and results tinkering allegedly perpetrated by the that in its desperate to hold on to power.
Prof Aliegba called on INEC and security agencies to ensure that the PDP adhered to the rules of a democratic contest in the rerun.
