An Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court yesterday ordered that two friends, Samson Shittu, 25, and Ramoni Animashaun, 24, who allegedly gang-raped a 21-year-old woman, be remanded at Kirikiri Prison.
Chief Magistrate P.E. Nwaka did not take the defendants’ plea.
He ordered that the case file be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for legal advice.
Nwaka adjourned till June 13.
Shittu, a vulcaniser, lives at 26, Oluyeye Street, Mafoluku, Oshodi; Animashaun lives at 7, Osundeyi Street, Mafoluku, Oshodi, Lagos.
Prosecuting Inspector Christopher John said the defendants committed the offence on April 26, at Osundeyi Street, Mafoluku.
He alleged that the defendants and others at large conspired and gang-raped the woman.
