China promises technology transfer to Nigerians

The Acting Consul General, China Consulate in Lagos, Mr. Guan Zhongqi has restated China’s commitment toward promoting sustainable economic development programmes, growing relationship with Nigeria and other African countries, especially in the area of technology transfer. 
 
He said this recently at a press briefing at the Consulate office in Lagos where he addressed the media on the second successful Belt and Road Initiative which took place in China, involvement of China in various development at present in Nigeria among others.
 
Zhongqi noted that China’s opening up to the world has also benefitted China, the most populous country in the world through development of her economy as she continues to reach out to the world through her big market.
 
“Opening up to the world is a big opportunity for the world especially through China’s import and export fair and it is believed that Nigerian businessmen would take advantage of this opportunity this year when it comes up again. 
 
“Nigeria is a strategic partner with China with our relationship in terms of economy and culture getting closer and closer which will continue to improve year by year”. 
 
“I foresee the co-operation between the two countries getting very strong with more and more Nigerian businessmen going to China and Chinese businessmen coming to Nigeria” he said.
 
He described as a huge success the second Belt and Road Initiative which took place in Beijing with heads of state and government from 38 countries including President Buhari, United Nations Secretary-General and Managing Director, International Monetary Fund (IMF) with over 6,000 foreign guests from 150 countries and 92 international organizations in attendance while President Xi Jinping was also at the forum.
 
He reiterated the submission of Jinping in his opening address last year, which according to him remains relevant to this year’s forum that promoting high-quality Belt and Road co-operation based on the principles of extensive consultation, joint contribution and shared benefits among others would be the focus of every participating country.  
Commercial Consul, Liu Junsheng enumerated various projects being embarked upon by the Chinese government in Nigeria that have been creating employment opportunities with corporate social responsibility being carried out for the various host communities.
