The Chief Judge (CJ) of Lagos State, Justice Opeyemi Oke will bow out on Thursday, four days before she attains the statutory retirement age of 65.
She will be succeeded by the next in line in the judicial hierarchy, Justice Kazeem Alogba, as the state’s 17th CJ.
Alogba will act in that capacity, pending his screening by the House of Assembly.

A pull-out ceremony will be held for Justice Oke on Thursday at Lagos High Court at Igbosere.
She was at the Governor’s Office at Alausa, Ikeja, on Monday on a farewell visit.
Justice Oke became the state’s 16th CJ in September 2017.
She joined the service as a Senior Magistrate and was Chief Magistrate Grade (1) between 1986 and 1996. She was Deputy Chief Registrar from 1993 to 1994.
Oke was appointed a judge on July 19, 1996.
