IGP orders water-tight security at praying grounds, others

The Inspector General of Police (IGP) M. A. Adamu has felicitated with Nigerians, especially the Muslims, on today’s Eid-el- Fitri celebration.

The IGP assured the public of tight security before, during and after the celebration in all states of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

He said Assistant Inspectors General of Police (AIGs) and Commissioners of Police (CPs) in charge of zones and state commands nationwide, had been directed to intensify security in all “Eid praying grounds” and other sensitive locations, including recreation centres, public highways, public utilities and critical infrastructure.

Besides, the IGP advised the public to remain vigilant and give the police and other security agencies useful information by reporting any suspicious persons and movements to prevent any untoward situation.
