Over 40,000 guests are expected at a three-day art and cultural exhibition by this year’s All Nigerian Festival (ANF).
The festival, scheduled to hold at Muri Okunola Park, Victoria Island, is to boast tourism, culture and entertainment.
At a conference in Lagos, the convener of the event, Mr. Kupa Victory, said ANF would project the country’s values, noting that the world must appreciate Nigeria’s contributions to global development.
According to him, the foremost exhibition would not only be a celebrated landmark, but also positioned to examine global cultural trends.
Victory said partners for this edition of the festival include The Federation of Tourism Association of Nigeria, Fashion Designers’ Association of Nigerian and the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Lagos State chapter.
He explained that Lagos State being the host has been instrumental to the development of tourism and entertainment in the country.
He said the ANF initiative was aimed at making its contributions to youth employment opportunities and talent development. He stressed that different ethnic groups will feature at the event.
“Aside being decorated with the ambience of green white green, there will be an artistic traditional opening ceremony. The festival will be opened with the National Anthem rendered by the talking drum goddess Ara, Miss Tourism and ANF Ambassador.
“We will have current reigning Mr. Nigeria on parade, while guests will embark on a tour of the exhibition segments, fashion display and drama about Lagos as the centre of excellence will be acted.”
He further explained that notable artists who have made remarkable contributions in the entertainment industry would perform live show.
“There will also be a live music exhibition by Majek Fashek, Pasuma, Ara, Sanni Danja, DJ Jimmy Jatt and more artist and DJ’s for digital and live music exhibition.
“Lagos State government has affirmed its readiness to the hosting of the annual All Nigerian Festival. This is intended to showcase and promote the heritage and cultures of Nigeria.
“We are doing this so that the world would appreciate what the country can offer in terms of its delicacies, fashion, arts and crafts, cultural dance and music across the federation.
He said ANF board chairman Mr. Femi Falana (SAN) had made great contribution to position the festival as the best in Africa.
