Monarch seeks insurance over for journalists

The traditional ruler of Lisa, Ogun State, Chief Oladele Odugbemi, has urged media houses to provide insurance cover for their workers. He lamented that journalists who died in the course of service have not been adequately remunerated.

The monarch spoke at the burial of Mrs. Bukola Ogundare, who was a member of the Freelance Independent Broadcasters Association of Nigeria (FIBAN), Lagos chapter.

He noted that the media, which is the heart of the country because of its enormous contribution to nation-building, was passing through difficult moments.

According to him, the late Ogundare was a committed media practitioner who did her assignment with passion. The deceased used the medium to serve humanity, he added.
