ADAMAWA State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has assured women that noble roles await them in his government.
Fintiri this indication while receiving groups that paid him Sallah homage at the Government House in Yola yesterday.
He said women would be valued under him and their place would be higher than the bedrooms and the kitchens.
“For the women, you will not only belong to the other room and the kitchen,” he said in a comment after the groups had addressed him during the brief ceremony in the Banquet Hall of the Government House.

Fintiri said he would in the first instance appoint a woman as Commissioner of the Ministry of Women and Social Development.
He told the groups, which include the National Council of Women Affairs (Adamawa chapter), the Association of Women Traders, Women in PDP Secretariat (Adamawa State), Youth Council of Nigeria, butchers association as well as some tribal delegations that they would be treated fairly.
“We are here and will be here for you. We have started and we will continue to do our best for the overall good of the state. We have promised you an 11-point agenda and that’s what we will account for at the end of our four years,” he said.
