THE lawmaker representing Ado/Irepodun/Ifelodun Federal Constituency of Ekiti State in the House of Representatives, Olusola Fatoba, has said the type of conflict that played out between the eighth National Assembly and the Executive will not recur in the Ninth National Assembly.
There was frosty relationship between the Yakubu Dogara-led House of Representatives and the Presidency for four years.
Fatoba said the current House of Representatives leadership under Femi Gbajabiamila will work in tandem with President Muhammadu Buhari’s blueprints to transform the country into a developed nation.
He said a harmonious working relationship between both arms was critical to engendering the country’s socio-economic growth and development.
This, the lawmaker said, would make the country’s economy institution strong to be able to banish poverty, hunger, unemployment and other manifestations.
Addressing reporters yesterday in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital, Fatoba said the ninth National Assembly is set to enact people-oriented laws that will have direct impact on Nigerians, regardless of party affiliation and ethnic affinity.

“This is not about partisanship; it is about fulfilling the dream our party has for the citizens. Don’t forget that President Buhari and the All Progressives Congress (APC) came with the utmost focus to transform Nigeria. Members of the party in the House will key into that agenda.”
“Some of the programmes and schemes initiated by the administration of President Buhari, like the N-Power, Tradermoni, Marketmoni, youth in commercial agriculture and others even benefited the opposition more than APC members.
“Our National Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, once said openly that he got reports and complaints from APC in some states that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members were enjoying more of the programmes than our own. This is what leadership is all about.
“So, the PDP as the main opposition in the House, has no reason to oppose any of the programmes of the Executive arm targeted to make Nigeria a great nation,” he said.
Fatoba said the six members of the House and three senators elected on the platform of the party from Ekiti State would pool resources and skills together with Governor Kayode Fayemi to transform the state’s landscape.
He said his utmost aim was to network with his former employer and agriculture firm and support the governor to empower the youths through agriculture to boost food production in Ekiti State.
The lawmaker promised to support Fayemi’s initiative to facilitate and encourage large scale cultivation of rice, plantain, yam, maize, cassava and other food and cash crops so that Ekiti will join the league of food basket states.
