The National Business Challenge of the ENACTUS Nigeria – a non-profit organisation – starts today, with students from 24 tertiary institutions competing for the first prize.

The event, themed: ”Leapfrogging Human Capital Development”, is sponsored by African Capital Alliance Foundation, Seplat Petroleum Development Company and Axa Mansard Insurance Plc.

Participants are expected to showcase innovative and business solutions they had deployed through their community-based projects to solve real problems across communities in the country.

A statement by ENACTUS Country Director, Michael Ajayi, said the three-day event will also feature the Season II of the Sahara Energy Challenge, ”Reaching the goals”, aimed at developing innovations in energy efficiency and energy conservation in line with Goal 7 of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

There will also be The Aspire Coronation Trust (ACT) Foundation Leadership Challenge II, which was designed to enable teams of ENACTUS students develop social innovations and enterprises that will bring about economic opportunities for the people.

There will also a Leadership and Innovation Summit sponsored by ACT Foundation with the theme: “Multi-stakeholder collaborations: A tool for achieving sustainable large scale social impact”.

The winner of the National Business Challenge will represent Nigeria at the ENACTUS World Cup in September, at the Silicon Valley in San Jose, California, United States.
