In a bid to prevent loyal customers from passing off its trademark, Western Lotto Nigeria Limited has alerted the public to the activities of unscrupulous elements who have been cloning its subsidiary, Lotto9ja.
At a press briefing held in Lagos yesterday, the General Manager of the company, Mr Tajudeen Usman, warned those behind the unlawful parctice to desist from the act or be ready to face the wrath of the law.
He reiterated that the company would not allow any misguided elements to hijack its widely known trademark.
He said: ”Today with the ribbon around our bosom as a token of our victory, we demand that our rights and sovereignty as a brand must be respected across board. It is our expectation that the clones will vanish because the real deal is now available.
”We have every proprietary rights to Lotto9ja. As stated earlier, our sister company, Lotto9ja Limited, is registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and we have the trade mark to the name, design and logo as approved by the Federal Ministry of Trade and Investment.
”So, we are at a loss as to why anyone would want to muzzle us and deprive us of the fruit of our labour and sweat just because they have the wherewithal.
”We believe that Nigeria is a society that is governed by law and all responsible citizens and corporate organizations are expected to be corporately governed. We rest on this as we work to provide an unparalleled gaming experience for our highly esteemed patrons.”
