The President of the Victoria Garden City Rotary Club, Mrs. Margaret Olowu, has said the club is focused on helping the poor.
The club’s president who spoke during her inauguration at Ajah, added that the country’s socio-economic realities weigh on the poor.
According to her, Rotary is saddled with the challenge of helping the needy, noting that all affected communities within its jurisdiction would be touched.

Oluwu said the VGC Rotary plans to equip some schools with computers and 3000 dictionaries, while providing micro credits to low income earners and donating to the less privileged were part of the burden she would undertake during her tenure.
She said: “The honour bestowed on me to lead our prestigious club 2019/2020 Rotarians of distinguished and dedicated members, who are determined to whether all challenges through our concerted efforts, together we will contribute our quota.
“The board members, your wealth of experience, knowledge and expertise will be adequately passed and together we shall take our prestigious club where it should be.
“Let us collectively give our all to serve humanity, bearing in mind that our serving in Rotary is about undertaking activities without remuneration. We must give hope to the hopeless and put smile on the faces of the despondent.”
She said urged members to make Ajah and environs better communities than they met it.
“We must strive to make the world better than we met it. We will be guided and strengthened by the noble path laid by its founder. For our distinguished members, I look forward to tap into your knowledge and expertise to deliver on every measure and objective,” she concluded.
