Experts mull Fintech to grow economy

Nigerians yet to explore the opportunities in the nation’s emerging financial technology space need to do so in the earliest possible time, President of the Fintech Association of Nigeria, Dr. Segun Aina has said.

Aina disclosed this during a two day conference organised by Fintech and well attended by all the stakeholders from 29 countries, noting that in the last four years the companies have synegised with companies of like mind through innovation, creativity and notable applications that make business easy even to the grassroots.

“We have built global partnerships and recognized by the African Union, United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, African Development Bank, Afreximbank and others. These self-regulatory organisations have brought needed coordination to the Fintech ecosystem in Nigeria and Africa with linkages to and alliances with similar organisations in other markets,” he said.

Speaking at the occasion, the Central Bank Deputy Governor, financial System Stability, Mrs. Aishah Ahmad said the apex bank is working round the clock to get operational framework that will improve the security and operation of financial technology firms.
