Osinowo intervenes, as Ecological Fund officials visit flooded Lagos communities

In a bid to find a lasting solution to the perennial flooding affecting communities on the bed of Ogun River, some federal government officials, through the intervention of Senator Bayo  Osinowo Friday, visited sites of flood affected communities in Ikosi-Isheri and Agboyi-Ketu LCDAs.

Osinowo is the lawmaker representing Lagos East Senatorial District at the National Assembly.

The head of the delegation, Ibrahim Lawal, noted that the team was on ground for an on-the-spot assessment in order to find a panacea to the high tidal waves recorded almost every year.

According to the delegation, the preliminary inspection is geared towards furnishing the lawmaker on the best ways to deal with the environmental problem.

Earlier in his remark, the Executive Chairman, Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, Abdul Fatai Oyesanya, who accompanied the delegation to the flood zone in Orisa community, described the intervention of the Senator as a ‘panacea to fashion a permanent solution’.

Oyesanya commended the lawmaker for standing firm with his affected constituents, adding that his show of concern has proved him to be a caring leader.
