The convener, Pastor Tosin Onayiga, informed the seminar holds on November 9 at Peakan International School, New ILeshan road, Ikenne, Ogun State.

According to him: “The programme is aimed at highlighting the missionary activities of late Bishop Crowther and his contributions to the development of the Christian faith in Nigeria.”

He said the sterling roles of the deceased Bishop in producing the Yoruba bible and ground- breaking works in Igboland as well as evangelisation in Mende, Bayelsa and the Niger Delta region, which set new standards for later African translations, were unprecedented.

He added that Bishop Crowther’s visit to Britain in 1851 influenced government, church, and public opinion about Africa.

“So, we should learn from him so that we can do greater exploits for the Lord in our time.”
