Two persons were injured on Thursday afternoon when fire gutted a storey-building behind in Yaba area of Lagos State.
It was gathered that the fire resulted from a power surge.
The combined personnel of the state emergency management agency (LASEMA) and the state and federal fire service were still battling the fire at press time.

LASEMA Public Affairs Officer Nosa Okunbor said recovery operations were also ongoing.
He said, “A storey building was gutted by fire as a result of power surge from one of the rooms before escalating to other parts of the building. The intensity of the fire caused physical cracks and collapse of the building.
“However, there was no loss of life but two male adults sustained injuries and have been taken to the hospital. Rescue operation still ongoing as LASEMA alongside LASG and Federal Fire Services are on ground to curtail the inferno from further escalation to other buildings,” he said.
