Monarch donates building, patrol van to police

The Onikogbo of Ikogbo Ejila Awori in Ogun State, Oba Nurudeen Oluwadare Osoja, has officially handed over one nine-room ultra-modern building on three plots of land built for the police by the kabiyesi, indigenes and non-indigenes of the community to the state’s Commissioner of Police, Bashir Makama.

The community also donated a 5KVA generator, chairs, tables, standing fans, computer systems, a photocopy machine and a printer to the police for the smooth running of the office.

In addition, the Chancellor of the proposed Vision University in the village, Dr (Mrs) Ngozi Okafor, donated a brand new Toyota Hillux patrol van to the police. The monarch said his administration was determined to ensure absolute peace and security of both lives and property within the community.

He said he was quite sure that investments in the community would grow faster under a peaceful and secure atmosphere.

The kabiyesi urged parents to warn their children and wards to desist from criminal activities adding that suspected criminal tendencies should be promptly reported to the police.

Kabiyesi Osoja appealed to the Ogun State government to listen to the crying of the residents by repairing all the roads in Ejila Awori.

The commissioner thanked the community for the donations, saying they would make lives and property secure.

He appealed to the community to engage more in community policing, noting that the issue of security should not be for the police alone.
