Civil societies mourn Beko Kuti’s widow

CIVIL societies have mourned Mrs. Abosede Ransome-Kuti, the widow of human rights activist, Dr. Beko Ransome-Kuti, who died on December 3 at the age of 74.

A statement issued yesterday by the Secretary-General, Beko Ransome-Kuti Memorial Committee, Comrade Awa Bamiji, said: “With heavy hearts, but in total submission to the will of Almighty, we announce the death of Mrs. Abosede Ransome-Kuti.

“She was the wife of one of the late leaders of this community and a renowned human rights activist, Dr. Beko Ransome-Kuti

“She is survived by two children, Funmi and Lande.

“Her body has been deposited in the mortuary and burial arrangements will be announced by the family later.”
