THE Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE) has implored motorists to maintain speed limits and avoid reckless driving in order to have a crash-free yuletide.
Its Owode-Ijako Unit Commander, Temitope Oseni, gave the advice while controlling traffic at the ever-busy Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway.
She said the advice became imperative as it will remind motorists and other road users to maintain utmost discipline to prevent accidents during the festive period.
“I’m using this opportunity to appeal to motorists to comply with stipulated speed limits and avoid driving in a direction prohibited by road traffic law.

” They should avoid phone/text messages and other forms of distractions while on the wheel.
She said they should use their seat belts as required by traffic regulations.
The unit commander implored motorists to concentrate and be vigilant as well as shun drunk driving that may endanger the lives of other road users.
Oseni also warned motorists against flouting traffic rules and regulations, saying that erring drivers would be penalised.
She cautioned pedestrians that would be crossing the road around Owode-Ijako axis of Lagos/Abeokuta Expressway to be careful to avoid being knocked down by those driving against traffic.
