All roads lead to Abuja on December 19 for SME Summit and Awards 2019 (SMESUMA ’19) and five governors have been invited.
Expected to share their experiences on SME and youth empowerment at the occasion are Governor Aminu Masari of Katsina State, Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto State, Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano State and Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State. They will also be honoured for their huge contributions to the development of SMEs in their respective states.
Senate President, Senator Ahmed Lawan; Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila; Senator Tolu Odebiyi and Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, were invited too.
Aside from recognising stakeholders who have made a difference in the sector, there will be discussions on the challenges facing SMEs in Nigeria with a view to charting the way forward.
With the theme, ‘Nigeria’s Prosperity through SME Prism,’ the former Vice Chancellor of University of Uyo and immediate past Director General of the West African Institute for Financial and Economic Management (WAIFEM), Prof Akpan Ekpo, is the keynote speaker.
The organisers, Lakewhyte Communications, noted that the developed nations across the world achieved the status due to the attention they gave to SMEs.
