An Executive Secretary for the Muslim Ummah of Southwest Nigeria (MUSWEN), Prof Muslih Tayo Yahya, has assumed office as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the umbrella body of all Muslims in the Southwest.
He succeeds the pioneer Executive Secretary, Prof Daud Noibi, whose retirement began on November 17.

A statement by MUSWEN’s Media Consultant Femi Abbas said Prof Yahya assumed office on November 25, following the ratification of his nomination by the General Assembly of MUSWEN.
The professor of Arabic and Islamic Studies at the University of Jos had served the university as a Sub-Dean of the Faculty of Arts and later as Director of Academic Planning and Management.
