Release panel report on proposed Ondo LCDA, Communities urge Akeredolu

Some communities agitating for creation of Local Council Development Councils (LCDC) in Akoko area of Ondo state on Thursday called on the state government to release the report of the committee set up for the purpose.

The demand, they said, is to re-awake the enthusiasm of the agitators who are doubting the sincerity of the state government to the planned project.

The communities of Akunu,Ikakumo,Auga,Ise,Iboropa and Ugbe, which demanded for Isowopo Area council from the present Akoko Northeast local government, said the call became imperative when viewed a lot of financial,human and government resources have already been committed to the project.

They also expressed concern on the integrity of government that promised to create additional councils in Ondo state.

Two community leaders Pa Niyi George from Ikakumo and Prince Adekunle Omola from Ise Akoko respectively said the actualization of the report as demanded by the state government is long overdue.

They stressed that the implementation would go a long way to see the government as very serious about the aims and objectives of creating the council areas which for acceleration of development particularly in the rural areas .

According to them many communities are ready with the proposed secretariats,urging the state governnment not to politicise the issue as Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu is known to be a promise keeper.

They pleaded for quick implementation of the report like it was applicable in Lagos and Osun states.
