Ogun State High Court sitting in Ota has ordered the Alagbado of Agbado, Oba Oladayo Shyllon, to stop parading himself as the tradititonal ruler of the community.
Delivering his ruling in a case instituted against Oba Shyllon by the Baale (village head) of Alagbado, Chief Anthony Kayode Akinrinade, Justice Ogunfowora of court four, said that the selection of Shyllon as the monarch of the community did not follow due process and procedures.
The judge averred that only the Baale (village head) had the right to be elevated to the monarch of the town, adding that since Shyllon was never the Baale of the community, he did not have any right to be installed the monarch of the town in the first place.

The court, therefore, ruled that Shyllon should stop parading himself as the monarch of the town because he was not the rightful occupant of the throne of the Alagbado of Agbado.
In his reaction, Oba Shyllon said the claims of the applicants on the decision of the court should be discountenanced as the judge had only ruled on one of the prayers of the applicants.
“Don’t mind them it’s their case they struck out on one part. The other one that Alake has no power to install or act as prescribing authority outside Abeokuta South Local Government was refused. Therefore, Akinrinade’s claim as the Baale from Alake was refused,” he said.
