The project is expected to be completed by next year.

The roundabout is situated at a major market which connects three routes, links Maiduguri to Dikwa-Ngala economic road that leads to neighbouring countries-Cameroon and Chad.

Performing the ceremony yesterday, Governor Zulum stated that the construction for a new flyover within Maiduguri metropolis will begin by early next year at the post office area of the town to ease movement of goods and services in the town.

“Borno government is opening up the state capital as part of response to open up the area with rapid increase in the volume of motorists largely instigated by forced migration of families who have permanently settled in Maiduguri as a result of displacement by insurgents”.

The new routes are also expected to contribute to better flow of traffic on matters of security and emergencies.

Governor Zulum also announced that his administration intended to complete and start many roads this year as already provided for in the 2020 budget already signed into law.

Some of the roads he mentioned include; Maiduguri-Bama-Banki, Maiduguri-Dikwa-Ngala, and Damboa-Chibok-Mbalala which he assured will be delivered under his current term in office.
