B’Haram: Army Officer, seven soldiers killed in Borno ambush

No fewer than six soldiers and an Army officer were killed during a battle with  Boko Haram fighters in Mainok, close to Maiduguri the Borno State capital.

It was gathered from security sources that the incident which occurred at about 1pm on Tuesday , also left five soldiers wounded and two others missing.

However some of the terrorists were killed while many others were injured.

According to the source:“Two gun trucks and three anti-aircraft equipment could not be accounted for following the attack”.

The source also confirmed that the bodies of the fallen soldiers have been recovered and the wounded moved to a medical facility for treatment.

Director of Army Public Relations (DAPR), Colonel Sagir Musa, could not take his calls to confirm the incident.
