Miscreants vandalise ATMs in Kwara

KWARA State police command on Thursday said that miscreants vandalized two Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) of an unnamed bank in Ilorin, the state capital.

It added that the vandals allegedly carted away undisclosed amount of money.

Spokesperson of the command Ajayi Okasanmi said that “a report received today that two ATM of a bank (name withheld) was vandalised by unknown hoodlums and an undisclosed amount of money carted away while setting the machines ablaze.

“The command has launched a manhunt for the perpetrators of the vandalization in ilorin. The Commissioner of police, Kayode Egbetokun frowned at this ugly development and has vowed to stop at nothing in apprehending the perpetrators of this highly despicable act.

“He appealed to public spirited individuals to volunteer information that can lead to the arrest of these hoodlums as no effort will   be spared to see that this ugly trend is nipped at the bud.

“Investigation is in progress,  the perpetrators of this act will be fished out and be made to face the wrath of the law.

“Members of the public are advised to go about their lawful endeavours without any fear, while the business community is to be rest assured that the safety of their lives and properties are not under any threat whatsoever.”
