A NON-GOVERNMENTAL organisation (NGO), the Superior Performance Global Network (SPGN), will train no fewer than 100 youths in vocations.
The training will be done through one of its partners, Ishk Skills Hub, during the 2020 Youth Leadership Conference tagged: “ELEVATE 2020.”
The convener, Mr. Segun Odufuwa, in an interview in Lagos, said the programme is a free annual event scheduled to hold tomorrow at Prof. J. F. Ade Ajayi Hall, University of Lagos, Akoka, with resource persons from walks of life.
He said that the programme was convened to inform, educate, inspire, ignite and mould the minds of youths to become global leaders.

“In this year’s event, we plan to impact on as many lives as possible, leaving people far better than we met them.
“Our mantra is you cannot go back to change your beginning, but you can start where you are to change your ending. Therefore, forget your past, forget about your mistakes, make a decision today to be a success story and start now. Remember, nothing starts until it starts.
“After the event, finalists of the ELEVATE 2020 Start-Up Pitch Competition will be enrolled into the Seedstars Mentorship Programme.
“It is a free programme where some youths will be trained in vocational skills and some will be given grants to support their businesses after the event,” Odufuwa said.
According to him, formal education accompanied with vocational skills is the force to derive power when applied to produce goods and services and to create value and earn a living.
He urged the government at all levels to create an enabling environment for businesses to thrive as well as strengthen the technical colleges across the country for youths to acquire skills.
