Borno State Government has promoted, Mrs. Obiagelli Mazi, from a classroom teacher to assistant headmistress.
Her promotion followed an encounter with Governor Babagana Zulum, who went on a surprise visits to one of the public primary schools in the metropolis as early as 6.30 and found only Mrs. Mazi in the school.
Zulum, who was impressed by the dedication and discipline of the Abia- born worker, showered encomiums on her and gave an immediate cash reward of N100,000.
The Governor also ordered an executive promotion for her as the Assistant Headmistress of the school.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Communication and Strategy, Malam Isa Gusau, in a statement in Maiduguri, said the promotion of Mrs. Obiagelli Mazi has been approved after recommendation from the State Universal Basic Education Board.

He added the letter will be conveyed by the Executive Chairman, Borno State Universal Education Board, SUBEB, Dr Shettima Kullima.
Kullima also confirmed to our reporter in a telephone conversation that the promotion letter is ready and will be conveyed to her on Monday.
The ES commended the dedication of the teacher, adding that she will serve as a role model to her co-workers in the state.
Mazi has been teaching for 31 years in the state with a salary of N35,000 from the current minimum wage.
She was a teacher at Shehu Sanda Kyarimi 2 Primary school under Jere local government education authority.
