Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) officials have discovered an Indian hemp farm on a school premises in Anambra State, The Nation learnt.
A 45-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the development.
The school is said to be located Anaocha Local Government Area of the state.
The state commandant of the NSCDC Mr David Bille said in a statement on Tuesday that the suspect was arrested last week for cutting the school’s guard with a machete.

He said it was later discovered that he also cultivated weed in a large expanse of land in the school compound.
Bille said, “The suspect confessed to the crime and took the NSCDC operatives to the location, behind Lake City Secondary School, where the cannabis is planted on a yearly basis.
“Exhibits recovered from him include a machete, fresh leaves suspected to be Indian hemp and other incriminating items.”
The NSCDC boss said the corps had started investigating the matter and that the suspect would be handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
