Cummins West Africa Limited (CWAL) has assured its customers of excellent support services for its product portfolios – industrial and engines segment, power systems segment and components segment.

Managing Director Ade Obatoyinbo, who spoke at the first customer forum for the year, said a key objective of the firm is ‘to differentiate, through superior customer support, by pushing resources closer to the customers and leveraging Cummins regional footprint’.

The forum was also an opportunity to give customers a tour of the firm’s new $35 million facility in Ikeja.

Obatoyinbo stressed that Cummins does not see itself just as a power generation brand, but as a company that builds innovative engines that sustain economic growth.

He said: “CWAL is privileged to be part of the global Cummins organisation which, in the last 101 years, has been a global leader in power systems manufacturing, distribution and customer support.

This enables us to leverage innovative technology, global dependability, manpower resource and training, fully integrated parts catalog website that is accessible globally and easy to use.

“Our world class facility in Ikeja, which sits on a 25,000 square meter land space, is one of the largest distributor locations in the Cummins network. It demonstrates the importance Cummins attaches to its West African operation which has Nigeria as its main hub.”

Customers were given on tour of the facility where they learnt firsthand, the processes that lead to the production of generators.

The visitors expressed their satisfaction with Cummins’ level of investment in and commitment to Nigeria.

The customer forum was attended by the leadership of Cummins business in Africa and Middle East (AME), comprising Qatar, Southern Africa, North and West Africa, and East Africa.

Director for Distribution Business Kwame Gyan-Tawiah urged attendees to strive for excellent customer service to remain ahead of others in the market.

He emphasised Cummins’ focus on improved service delivery, thus placing customers at the forefront of its drive for innovation and continuous improvement.
