THE Olota of Ota, Oba Abdulkabir Adeyemi Obalanlege, has called on both state and federal governments to make education accessible to our youths.
He said “education is a means of combating poverty and unemployment which constitute major problems militating against the development of the country”.
He expressed dissatisfaction with the high costs of education at the elementary, secondary and tertiary levels which are driving away many children from poor families from school.
The monarch spoke during the commissioning of the multi-million naira projects donated by the Iganmode Grammar School Old Students’ Association (IGSOSA), Ogun State, to the school.
The Olota advised Nigerian students to shun crimes, drugs and other nefarious activities in order to achieve the objectives of acquiring good education.

He urged youths to be more creative and hard-working in all what they do in order to achieve success.
The group gave scholarships to some students, launched IGSOSA constitution, held health talk, gave awards and gifts to past principals and presented a portrait to the traditional ruler.
The association’s president, Hon Waliu Olajide Ojuko, said “the projects are meant to provide better learning environment for both the teachers and students”.
He advised students and youths to imbibe the spirit of self-reliance by engaging in skill acquisition.
The Olota was decorated as the grand patron of the association.
