MORE than 100 elite Kick-Boxers have stormed Indoor Sports Hall, Lekan Salami Sports Complex, Adamasingba, Ibadan to partake in trials organised by Oyo State Sports Council towards the forthcoming 20th National Sports Festival tagged “Edo 2020”.

The Training Camp and Kick Boxing Tournament tagged: “1st Bobby Ologun Int’l Children Kick-boxing Championship is organized by Elite Sports & Tourism Development in collaboration with Kick Boxing Federation of Nigeria.

The event which is being bankrolled by the Vice Chairman of Oyo State kickboxing Association, Akeola Lukuman Ayinde was put together with aim to commence early camping for Oyo fighters in a sport the state is hoping to sweep medals.

The two-day event that commenced on Saturday, 29th February will end today Sunday, 1st March, with expectation to pick good fighters to will go into close camping immediately ahead of the festival.

Ayinde, the kickboxing Association’s vice Chairman told the sporting press that “Oyo has good records and great confidence of winning medals in kickboxing event hence necessitating the move to adequately cater for the young fighters. We want to show care for our athletes and scout for new ones through the two-day event, as we know they will definitely make us proud in Edo”.
