Court remands tailor for ‘defiling’ 13-year-old

A CHIEF Magistrates’ Court in Ikeja, Lagos State, yesterday, ordered 32-year-old tailor, Udeze Ejiofor, who allegedly defiled a 13-year-old girl, to be remanded in Ikoyi Custodial centre.

Ejiofor, who resides in Oko- Oba area of Lagos, is charged with defiling a minor contrary to Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos, 2015.

Chief Magistrate Olufunke Sule-Amzat, who did not take the plea of Ejiofor, ordered the that the case should be transferred to the Ikeja Special and Sexual Offences Court.

Sule-Amzat adjourned the case until May 14.

Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, ASP Benson Emuerhi, told the court that Ejiofor committed the offence in February at New Oko- Oba area of Lagos.

He said the defendant indecently sexually assaulted the girl in his shop contrary to the provisions of the criminal law.
