Lawan lauds Obasanjo at 83

The Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, on Wednesday felicitated with former President Olusegun Obasanjo on his 83rd birthday anniversary.

Lawan, in a statement by his Special Adviser (Media) Ola Awoniyi in Abuja, said he “joined family members, friends and associates of the former president in rejoicing with him for attaining his advanced age in good health and sound mind.“

He said the former president has made indelible contributions to the unity and development of Nigeria in over five decades at the vanguard of nation-building.

Lawan recalled former President Obasanjo’s pivotal roles at different epochs in the tasks to keep Nigeria one, stable, democratic and prosperous. He said the elder statesman has served his country with courage, wisdom and sense of history.

The Senate President prayed that the former president would continue to be an asset for nation-building in Nigeria and for emancipation of Africa.

Lawan wished the elder statesman many more years of good health and service to his fatherland.
