Abiodun said steps should be taken to chart a new course for the state’s socio-economic development.

The governor enjoined Egba indigenes, home and abroad, to appreciate the legendary warrior and liberator, Lisabi Agbongbo-Akala, whose sacrifices and heroic deeds freed them from Oloyo’s bondage.

According to him, this enviable legacy would propel them to greater achievements individually and collectively.

Abiodun reassured the people of his administration’s commitment to ensure development in the state, by engaging a people-centred framework for advancement and implementation of its programmes.

Commissioner for Culture and Tourism Dr. Oluwatoyin Taiwo noted that the festival had continued to promote the culture and tradition of Egba indigenes, as it served as a rallying point for further development of the state and country.
