The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Akwa Ibom State will hold its congress tomorrow.
Chairman Paul Ekpo, who addressed a news conference on Thursday, said the election became necessary following the tenure expiration of the current executive.
Ekpo promised that the congress will be transparent, fair and equitable.
The chairman said the party intends to allocate more seats to women. He urged stakeholders to abide by the stipulated guidelines and be orderly.

He said: “From March 7, we will begin the processes of electing men and women who will command our party at the ward, local government and state levels for the next four years. We can assure you that the congresses will be anchored on transparency, fairness, equity and inclusion.
“It is also the desire of our party to get more women involved in leadership. We implore stakeholders to abide by the stipulated guidelines. Violence will not be condoned. It is our desire to maintain orderliness, inclusion and peace that we have entrenched in our party in Akwa Ibom.”
