No case of coronavirus in Kebbi

There is no suspected or confirmed case of coronavirus in Kebbi, Commissioner of Health, Alhaji Jaafar Muhammad, has stated.

He however said the state has put all necessary measures in place to prevent incursion of the virus.

Muhammad,  who stated this during a  press conference in Birnin- Kebbi, noted that the state government has continued to take proactive measures to maintain its safe status.

He added that necessary emergency preparedness and response committees have taken drastic measures  to prevent the importation of coronavirus infection into the state.

These measures, he said, include: instituting screening of all travellers coming into the state through air and land boarders with the collaboration of port health Division of the federal ministry of health.

The Commissioner also said an isolation camp has been established  for quarantine in case of any suspected cases that may be discovered through the surveillance system which has been intensified at all levels in the state.

He added that the state has taken the campaign against coronavirus to all public institutions, including schools, markets, places of worship, motor parks, airports and entry points.

These, he said, were in addition to community sensitisation to creast awareness on measures to be taken to prevent the disease transmission is ongoing in the various community.
