As Northern Nigerian Security Initiative, code-named ‘Shege-Ka-Fasa’ was denied registration by the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), the proponents of the initiative, Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG), has vowed to challenge the denial in court.

The CAC’s reply letter to the Coalition’s application for registration, made available to newsmen shows that the commission denied the organisation registration due to what it termed as; “Name misleading with the word security”.

The letter, through one of the CAC officials, Omekwe Paul Kode, dated March 9, 2020, said, “Notice of Denial: The CAC regrets to inform you that it was unable to approve any of the name(s) submitted for approval”.

However, the Coalition while addressing journalists at Arewa House Kaduna yesterday vowed to explore all legal means until the security outfit is duly registered by CAC, saying that Attorney General of the Federation has been intimated on the development.

Spokesman of CNG, Abdul-Azeez Suleiman, who read the Coalition’s address, stated that the group will head to court to challenge the denial by CAC.

He noted that if a security outfit owned by South-West region could be legally registered, he wondered why similar security outfit in the North should not be registered too.
