WOMEN across Oyo State on Sunday, defiled the Coronavirus scare to attend this year’s Mother’s Day services in various worship centres.

Although, some of the churches monitored had hand wash and sanitisers positioned at every entrance for worshippers to use before entering the worship places, many of the services ended earlier than usual.

It was observed that most of the services do not hold the usual long traditional annual celebrations of the women fold during the services.

Social distance were observed in some churches as the people were seen maintaining some gaps in between seats.

However, none of the church visited failed to allow the women to be celebrated with special songs, renditions, presentations and especially taking charge of different aspects of the worship services.

While preaching on the topic, “Building the Christian Family,” at David Adebayo Oyediji Evangelical Anglican Church, Oyediji, Ibadan, the Guest Preacher, Dr Dunno Akinpelu condemned the practice of single-motherhood which is fast becoming a trend among the women fold.

She explained that the practice of single-motherhood is alien to the Bible and must not be heard off among Christians.
