Ogun APC urges social distancing

The Ogun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has advised leaders and members of the party to adhere to the social distancing order, in order to contain the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic.

The party also called on its members and residents to obey the sit-at-home order when it becomes effective on Friday.

The Chairman of the state APC Caretaker Committee, Yemi Sanusi, gave the advice in Abeokuta yesterday in a statement.

He said that Coronavirus had given rise to general shutting down of social and communal activities of people, adding that efforts were needed to overcome it, hence the call for a unanimity in obedience to the social distancing order of the government.

Sanusi said this would not only cut the spread of the virus, but would also give health workers the needed and unrestricted access to public utilities that would be deployed to attend to the COVID-19 positive patients.

He hailed Governor Dapo Abiodun for his proactive response at curtailing the scourge and urged residents to improve their sanitary level by washing hands regularly and desisting from touching their faces with hands and shaking hands.

He, however, implored people to seize the window of opportunity of the adjustment in lockdown of movement to stock their homes with consumables needed to keep their families at home.
