The Joint National Association of Persons With Disabilities (JONAPWD) Lagos State chapter, has appealed to Lagos and federal government to rethink the process of COVID-19 intervention programme to also provide for persons with disabilities.
Speaking with journalists in Lagos, the chairman of the association, Dr Adebukola Adebayo, said persons with disabilities like every other persons, also feel the heat of the pandemic.
He expressed worries that the way and manner public information enlightenment on COVID-19 is being designed, produced and disseminated, government has not been sensitive enough to the plight of persons with disabilities, saying the group was completely excommunicated and excluded from the intervention process.

He reiterated that the disbursements of food packages announced by the state government, does not make provision for strategy and procedures to ensuring that persons with disabilities benefit from the arrangements.
