The Federal Government is yet to take a decision on providing free electricity for Nigerians to mitigate the effects of the Coronavirus pandemic,the Ministry of Power said on Friday.
The ministry said it was not aware of any such decision.
It was reacting to speculations that government plans to provide electricity for Nigerians free of charge for two months.

But in a clarification yesterday, the ministry on its official Twitter handle said:
“Please Note: NO DECISION has been taken by the Federal Government to provide Nigerians with FREE ELECTRICITY for 2 months. If and when that becomes a reality, it shall be announced officially.”
It added: “Be rest assured that FG is exploring ways to ameliorate any hardship on Nigerians.”
