A lawmaker representing Badagry Constituency l in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mr. Ibrahim Layode, at the weekend donated two cows and 1,200 food items to Badagry residents to mark Easter.
The residents, who were on queue, observing social distancing at seven places, were given a package of the stimulus.
The items distributed by the lawmaker were frozen chicken, fish, rice, spaghetti, groundnut oil, sugar, salt and sugar.
At Mobil junction in Badagry, the lawmaker handed over a cow, four bags of 50kg rice and N50,000 to a group named Team Lagos for the Easter.
At Ashipa village in Seme, Layode gave another group named Kweme Kelenu, one cow, four bags of 50kg rice, five bags of 10kg of Semovita and N50,000 to mark the ceremony.
The legislator also visited Woyanmi, Zango and Asakpo communities along Seme Expressway and gave them food items and money.
Speaking to reporters, the lawmaker said that the gesture was to enable his constituents celebrate Easter.
Layode implored them to abide by the instructions of the World Health Organisation (WHO) and Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), saying the country would overcome COVID-19 pandemic.
Mrs. Esther Kuponu, one of the beneficiaries, said that the package was timely, adding that it would help them to enjoy the celebration.
